Week 4 proved successful for the Blackhawks, defeating Clinton Central 57-0. While the first few minutes of the game were quiet, with 4:15 left of the first quarter, Eli Kolb put the first points on the board with a 34-yard run. Once the Hawks started, they were on a roll. Zach Bales, Caleb Alexander, Trent Decraene, and Hayden Alexander all contributed one touchdown to the score. Eli Kolb scored two rushing touchdowns, bringing his season total to 7 in four games. Kolb remains the leading rusher, averaging 103.5 yards per game. Nolan Page scored twice on Special Teams, once returning a punt 50 yards for a TD, and later returning a kickoff 63 yards for another score! Congratulations to Nolan Page for earning Legacy Images Player of the Game!
The Gophers are currently 4-0 this season. Both teams are undefeated in the conference, but this game will look to change that. The Gophers average 199 rushing yards a game, as compared to the Blackhawks with 163. The Gopher’s lead rusher is Seth Whitlock, who averages 77.8 yards a game, while Sheridan’s Eli Kolb averages 103.5. This will definitely be a closer game than the past few weeks have been for the Hawks.
This game will also be celebrating Sheridan’s 100th Homecoming! On Saturday, there will be a parade at 10:30 a.m., the Powderpuff game at 1 p.m., which will be broadcast, and tailgate zones after the Powderpuff game. The day of celebration ends with the football game, kicking off at 7 p.m. Be there to support your Blackhawks!!
